I could go into more details but, I'm not being paid for this so I'll skip it! That's all I can say about why I like it. I dislike dying or missing any objectives when I complete a level. I personally play this on Hard most of the time when I come back and do a few levels here & there because I prefer to have a more fluid way of playing opposed to, the more needed strategy of a locked-in play style to complete a level on Badass. The difficulty may be too great for people less enthusiastic about completing things (I prefer to complete something once I start it, whether a game or some sort of project), Hard may be difficult enough for individuals like this. That part is very hard on Badass and must walk a tight line in order to avoid being hit. One instance I can think of is the Maintenance Shaft whose boss is "Nadja Drago," the train area where you are locked in for a few cycles. In some instances the time of dodging enemy fire/melee attacks is very tight. You have to be patient or dance to a certain rhythm once the enemies start moving in order to avoid being hit. I also thought the same as the regular enemies and their bosses through their dialogue and appearance.į) This game is difficult on Badass, even if you know what you are doing. I previously stated how I thought each hero was charismatic in their own way. For instance: "The Ring" level whose boss is "Bad Boy Bob," you get Snake's weapon from "Escape From New York." And in other instances, like "The Casinos" level whose boss is "Cyra Rhodes" you can find the scene from Blade Runner where Harrison Ford is hanging off of the building though you get nothing, it's still cool and love how each character vocalizes the line: "Like tears in the rain."Į) Character personality. Some secrets festered you something extra in-game, while others were an Easter Egg type of thing. I'll rank the difficulty of each level/boss later in this post.ĭ) The secrets were a nice touch. I did Platinum this game, and Badass had me severely pissed a lot of time when I died at a boss or at the very end of a boss fight after repeating the level several times. It took me longer to complete Normal on 100% in comparison to Hard. As with anything, a learning curve was required to familiarize with the game. Naturally, I started on "Normal" difficulty. It's a perfect blend.Ĭ) I found the game easy to keep going to complete. And of course the foot soldiers and bosses had great lines/dialogue too. I just like the human grittiness of Anna Conda and John Sawyer in their lines. If I had to choose one that I had to leave out, it'd probably be Mow Man though. The android Mow Man didn't disappoint either, his cocky British accent added to the perception of his own superiority over organic lifeforms as he was gunning them down in the field! It's hard to choose a favorite hero because they are all unique and good at what they do. He had some funny lines and he delivered them top notch as she did. I liked John Sawyer's big dick shit talking as much as Anna Conda's. Her screams were intense as well when she fell. I enjoyed Anna Conda's clever name, and the tough-talking no shit taking tough girl approach to her character. They have so much charisma when they are talking shit and their lines are delivered properly and in an amusing way but, at the same time you can respect their grittiness when they are doing it. I thought that each of the three main heroes did a good job with their voice acting. The sound is very good as well, the sound of the weapons firing, equipment/walls exploding and the overall banter of each enemy in the levels. Very good music that in my mind motivates one to move (which is a good thing). all look great!ī) The music/sound - The music not only fits the game's theme and look, it sounds good even without the game being looked at it. The art of the levels, backgrounds, front grounds etc. In the form of icons, guns, portraits (like the bosses in here before you choose their level), and other such things. I've always liked simplistic art in video games. I enjoy this game for a multitude of reasons:Ī) The simplicity of the art. My age being the age in which my age bracket played games such as these as youngsters. He showed me the game and we played co-op for a few levels and I was instantly attracted. I bought this game around a year ago because an associate did the same.
